ACCRA, GHANA – October 8, 2025 – The African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) and the acclaimed Revele Film and Television School today sealed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a major co-branded academic initiative.

The partnership, signed by AUCB’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abeku Blankson, and Revele CEO, Emmanuel Apea Jr., will see the institutions jointly develop and deliver high-quality academic programs in film, television, and digital media, operating under the name “Revele Film and Television School @ AUCB” as part of the programs of the university’s Centre for Creative Practice.

The collaboration is designed to fuse AUCB’s established academic accreditation and infrastructure with Revele’s creative expertise and industry brand value, aiming to train the next generation of highly skilled creative professionals.

An Integrated Model for Industry-Ready Graduates

The new initiative is structured on a foundation of joint ownership and equal governance, ensuring both institutions have an equivalent voice in the direction and operation of the programs.

Professor Abeku Blankson, AUCB Vice-Chancellor, highlighted the strategic alignment:

“This alliance is a powerful step towards closing the gap between academia and industry. AUCB provides the accredited framework and institutional support, ensuring our creative programs meet national quality standards (GTEC). At the same time, Revele brings the cutting-edge, hands-on industry knowledge necessary for student success.”

Emmanuel Apea Jr., CEO of Revele Film and Television School, emphasized the importance of creative autonomy:

“Revele will retain its creative and operational identity, particularly in faculty selection and direct industry engagement. This means our students will be taught by active practitioners using current industry standards. This co-branded school is built on a 50/50 governance model, ensuring both academic rigor and creative freedom are equally prioritized.”

The partnership, effective from October 8, 2025, is set for an initial duration of five years, subject to review and renewal. In the event of termination, the agreement requires a comprehensive ‘teach-out’ plan to ensure that all enrolled students can complete their programs.

The new co-branded film school is poised to become a vital institution for nurturing creative talent in West Africa, providing students with qualifications that are both academically recognized and highly valued by the global media industry.
